2026 MCDFNL Football Round 6 Preview — Dunolly v Lexton
Dunolly return from the bye this weekend looking to reset their season, but they face a Lexton side equally desperate to respond after a heavy defeat to Talbot.

The Eagles had a difficult outing in their last appearance, suffering a 110-point loss to Newstead. While the scoreboard was ugly, Dunolly will be hoping the week off has allowed them to regroup and refresh ahead of what shapes as a crucial contest.
Players such as Mitchell Goodwin, Bailey Morton and Ryan Burt have continued to battle hard despite the difficult results, while the Eagles will be searching for improved midfield pressure and cleaner ball movement after struggling to contain Newstead’s attacking waves.
Lexton, meanwhile, come into the clash after being outclassed by Talbot to the tune of 108 points. After a competitive opening quarter, the Tigers were overwhelmed by the Hawks’ pace, pressure and scoring power, conceding 20 goals across the final three terms.
Despite the result, Lexton have shown in patches this season they are capable of matching strong opposition, particularly through contested football and defensive pressure. Thomas Cullinan, Eric Wilkinson and Jaykeb Lench have been among their more consistent contributors and will again be important.
The key battle will likely be through the midfield. Both sides have struggled to contain opposition ball movement in recent weeks, so whichever team can gain control around stoppages and generate cleaner forward entries will give themselves a strong opportunity.
