2026 MCDFNL Netball Round 6 Preview — Maryborough Giants vs Natte Bealiba
Fresh off a reinvigorating victory over Trentham, the Maryborough Giants will look to harness that momentum into a strong showing against Natte Bealiba.
Due to ongoing netball court upgrades at Hedges Oval, both teams have elected to change Saturday’s venue to CHS Broadbent Oval.
Saturday’s performance couldn’t have come at a better time for the emerging Giants, showcasing their dangerous capabilities after starting 2026 0-4. While the addition of teenage superstar Lacey Broad certainly helped, fellow young guns Bridget Allan and Kayley Walhouse allowed Broad to get going in the second quarter with their pinpoint entry passes.
Defenders Riahni Egan and Macey Parry have been in excellent form this season, conceding just 29 goals last weekend alongside 18 and under defenders Amelia Reynolds and Jorgia Brown, who are beginning to find their feet at the A grade level.
That quartet will be tasked with containing a highly touted Natte Bealiba attack that’s scored more than 70 goals in their last three matches.
A key factor to Natte’s offensive excellence is their talented midcourt, with Ella Tranter, Chloe Ross and Ebony Raven all capable of dictating the game in multiple positions.
With Swans shooters Eve Mortlock and Chelsea Ross, as well as Maryborough’s Brown, Reynolds, Walhouse and Allan all still a part of the club’s junior teams, Saturday’s 18 and under match is set to be an exciting preview for the afternoon’s A grade contest.
