Cyclist dies in collision
Local police are investigating the first fatal collision in the Goldfields PSA this year following an incident that occurred in Havelock on Sunday, January 11.
Local police are investigating the first fatal collision just two weeks into the new year, following an incident that occurred in Havelock on Sunday, January 11.
Emergency services were called to reports of a collision between a car and cyclist on Maryborough-Dunolly Road, Havelock, at about 10.30 pm.
The cyclist, who is yet to be formally identified, died at the scene.
The driver of the car was not injured and stopped at the scene.
The exact circumstances surrounding the collision are yet to be established.
Major Collision Investigation Unit detectives are assisting with the investigation.

There was one fatal collision recorded in Goldfields Police Service Area last year, after Dunolly man Michael Rayson died in hospital following a collision with a kangaroo during a post run in the early hours of April 2, 2025.
