After bowling the reigning premiers for 101 courtesy of a sudden 8/28 collapse orchestrated by Amar Ullah and Alex Cook, Laane looked to have one hand on the top seed for the upcoming finals series.

That was until a destructive four-wicket spell from Nick Henderson wrestled the Colts back into the match, delivering a wrecking ball to the host’s top order.

Finishing the day on 5/33, Laane requires 69 runs for first innings points before the Colts snatch the minor premiership with five quick wickets on day two.

Saturday’s action began with Colts openers Rhys Wagstaff and Tarkyn Balzan walking to the middle, immediately facing the pristine bowling of Sam Bartlett and Josh Fitzpatrick, who didn’t concede a boundary in the first 72 balls.

However, it didn’t seem to faze Wagstaff and Balzan as they looked to give the Colts a sturdy foundation. That was until a Wagstaff leading edge from a Fitzpatrick ball found Tom Hart in the field, removing the Colts captain for 16.
