Success for local Pony Club

The Bealiba Pony Club had a fantastic showing at the recent Pony Club Victoria (PCV) Midland Zone event, winning the Pairs and Showjumping events.

Held at the Horsham Pony Club on Sunday, August 17, the event invited all 17 pony clubs residing in the Midland Zone of PCV, including clubs like Maryborough, Ballarat, Harcourt, Charlton and Learmonth to name a few to participate.

The event offered three events, a Team of Four Ride, a Pair Ride and Showjumping teams events.

Bealiba Pony Club sisters Nicole and Charli Catto took out first place in the Pair Ride, with fellow sisters Maddi and Alyssa Corcoran placing equal third.

The Maryborough and District Pony Club also finished well in the Pairs event, with Matilda Burke and Ella Parker finishing in fourth.

In the Team of Four Ride, Bealiba placed second after a countback from Horsham Pony Club, Nicole and Charli Catto were once again in the placings, teaming up with sisters Ruby and Lacee Watson from Neangar Park Pony Club.

In the Showjumping section, Bealiba had 10 combinations competing across the different grades. The combinations were placed into two teams of five riders, with scores counting towards the Midland Zone Team Shield.

The “Bealiba Babes” team consisting of Kellie Barnett, Ella Gifford, Maddi Corcoran, Charli and Nicole Catto took out the Midland Zone Team Shield.

The “Bealiba Brumbies” team with Lillian and Violet Stephenson, Alyssa and Maddi Corcoran as well as Nicole Catto placed fifth.
